Appointment Preparation
Each party must have:
- A valid government-issued photo ID
- The completed Alabama Marriage Certificate
The marriage certificate must be completed before the appointment but remain unsigned until both parties are instructed to sign.
Probate Recording and Certified Copies
After the marriage certificate is notarized, it can be submitted to the appropriate Alabama probate office for recording. Certified copies are included and returned with the completed order for pickup or shipping.

No. Electronic signatures are not accepted for either spouse or the notary. All required signatures must be handwritten in ink. A marriage certificate containing an electronic signature will not be recorded or filed.
