What's an Apostille

U.S. documents may require an apostille when they are being used in another country for matters involving relocation, dual citizenship, marriage, education, employment, or business. An apostille verifies the signature, seal, or official capacity connected to the document for international use.

Common State Document Apostilles:

  • Power of Attorney
  • Marriage Certificate
  • School Documents
  • Business Documents
  • Court Records
  • Affidavits & Other Notarized Documents

 Federal Document Apostilles:

  • FBI Background Check
  • Social Security Benefit Verification Letters
  • Signed or Sealed Federal Agency Documents
  • Documents Requiring DOJ and DOS Authentication

Know Who's Handling Your Documents

The Local Advantage

Not every document is immediately eligible for apostille processing.

Many nationwide apostille companies operate entirely online, with documents moving through centralized processing channels and little or no local presence. In many cases, customers never speak directly with the individual responsible for reviewing their documents and determining whether additional preparation is required before apostille processing can begin.

Working with McCurty Apostille & Notary Services means working directly with the person handling your documents from start to finish. Every document is reviewed before submission to determine whether additional preparation is required and verify that all necessary steps have been completed. This hands-on approach helps reduce delays and avoid unnecessary rejections.

Apostille FAQs

Concise answers to common questions, helping you navigate apostille requirements with clarity and confidence.

No. An apostille verifies the signature, seal, and authority of the official on the document. It does not verify the document's contents or guarantee acceptance by the receiving country or organization.

I provide mobile service throughout the greater Birmingham area and up to 50 miles from our office location.

Our expertise is in apostille services for Hague Convention countries. Embassy legalization for non-Hague countries (such as UAE, China, Vietnam, or Saudi Arabia) requires a different process that we don't currently offer.

We accept all major debit and credit cards and cash.
