Alabama Court Records Apostille

If you need an Alabama-issued court record—such as divorce decrees, custody orders, name changes, eligible adoption records, judgments, or other state-issued legal documents, for use in another country, an apostille is required for Hague Convention countries. 

These records require international authentication before it can be accepted abroad. 

• Obtain a certified copy from the issuing court
• Submission to the Alabama Secretary of State
• Apostille issued for international use

Obtain an official, certified copy of the court record from the Circuit Clerk’s office where the order was issued.
